Director of POLE-SUD since 2011, Joëlle Smadja has worked as a dance programmer since the 1990s.
Her career and her view led her to support numerous national and international artists through performances, festivals and residencies, composing each of their seasonal programming.
POLE-SUD, which is open to all contemporary dance forms in France and in the world, is located in the Southern area of Strasbourg. In 2015, POLE-SUD was awarded with the national label of Choreographic Development Centre, which is a network of specialized dance places, comprised of only 12 institutions in France.
